Gospel Singers Reunion marks silver anniversary

For the 25th year in row, The Dudley Evans
Family’s annual Gospel Singers Reunion will once again fill the air around Roane County Park with sounds of Southern, Bluegrass and contemporary gospel music.

This year’s event begins at 3 p.m. July 9 at the park.

Admission is free, but those attending are asked to bring a nonperishable food item to be donated to area food banks to help feed the area’s needy.

“It will be an afternoon and evening of great sounds of gospel music that will encourage all who are needing lifted up through a gospel song,” promised Dudley Evans, event organizer and leader of the hosting Dudley Evans Family singing group.

Eternal Vision of Knoxville is the featured group. This year’s talent highlights several outstanding groups, such as The Heritage Quartet of Chattanooga and The Foothills Quartet of Maryville.

Members of the Rockwood-based Dudley Evans Family include Evans and his children, Temper, Janicia and Derick.

Other singers on the program include Dave Raby and Friends, soloist Johnny Hamilton and The Roy Freels Singers.

Refreshments will be available.
