The Tennessee Small Business Development Center, the University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services, Procurement Technical Assistance Center and the city of Knoxville-Equal Business Opportunity Program presenting three advanced government contracting seminars starting in August.

The first workshop, on Aug. 28-29, will be “Proposal Preparation and Government Contract Negotiations.”

A Sept. 26 seminar focuses on “Governmental Price Proposal Basics.”

The series concludes on Oct. 3 with training on “Proposal Writing for Government Contracts.”

Seating is limited to 50 per seminar.

This seminar training series is particularly suited for professional service firms, construction businesses, engineering firms and SBA 8a businesses.

The training is provided under the Roane State Community College’s Advanced Composites Employment Accelerator project.

The program is designed to further develop the composite material/carbon fiber cluster in East Tennessee, and establish the region as the nation’s epicenter for low cost composite material/carbon fiber.

This strategic focus will help support the national energy effort through the development of lightweight and low-cost materials to the energy sector, transportation sector and other industries.

The ACE Accelerator is jointly funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration, and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
