Great things are made possible by pancakes

-A A +A

The Rotary Club of Kingston hosted its annual pancake breakfast and silent auction on Feb. 2.

More than 300 people were served, and folks enjoyed wonderful food and visited with friends and neighbors in this annual tradition.

A record $6,000 was raised that will be used to support many local and international service projects such as providing dictionaries to each third grade student at Dyllis, Midway and Kingston elementary schools; awarding a scholarship to a nontraditional student at Roane State; and providing a water tank in Mexico for a school without fresh water.

The Rotary Club of Kingston would like to thank all who attended for their support and the Kingston Church of Christ for allowing us to use their family center.

Thanks also go to the following businesses and individuals who showed their support by purchasing gold-table sponsorships:  A&R Packing (Hamtramck, Mich.); Acme Block and Brick; Adkisson Cabinets; Animal Medical Center; Troy Beets, mayor of Kingston; Browder’s Ace Hardware; Bunch Marine; state Rep.
