Roane County Commissioner James Harmon has not been shy about taking unpopular positions the last couple of years.

Whether it was calling for Roane County, Rockwood and Harriman high schools to be consolidated or opposing Sheriff Jack Stockton’s request for new jail employees, Harmon has taken a lone ranger’s approach on a lot of issues.
