Harriman Happenings: April 11

-A A +A
By Louise Warmley

Madison and Miciah Caruthers celebrated their 14th birthday Saturday, March 31.

They live in Murfreesboro but celebrated their special day in Nashville.

Their grandparents, Spencer and Judy Anderson from Harriman, joined them for their special day along with their mother, LaToya.

They spent the day at Opry Mills shopping. Later they dined at Dave & Buster’s Restaurant. Judy said the food was great.

After the meal, Madison and Miciah had fun and played games in part of the restaurant.

Before their grandparents returned home, they gave the girls a Kindle Fire. They gave thanks to them and their mother. They said that was one great birthday.

We all are happy for the girls and wish them many more birthdays.

Happy wedding anniversary wishes to Curtis and Permelia  Anderson, who celebrated 36 years of marriage Saturday, April 7.

Last Sunday, April 2, Edward and Marlean Phipps celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary. They are the parents of two children and four grandchildren.

We wish you a very happy anniversary and God’s blessing.

Happy wishes to the following friends who are celebrating their birthdays during this month of April: Mary Hickey and Laura Fuqua, April 8; Marie Frazier, April 30; and Eugene Collier, April 1.

On April 14, the Douglass Family Singers will be in full concert at Braxton Chapel at 6 p.m.

Everyone is welcome.

The Pendergrass Singers’ Annual Day will be at New Trinity Tabernacle Church of God in Knoxville and will feature God’s Creation, Elect, Thompsonaires and others.

All are welcome to support these wonderful singers.

Williams Chapel’s annual Men’s Day will be Sunday, April 15. Bro. Marlon Eskridge will speak.

At 3 p.m. Pastor R.T. Smith and sons Calvin and Andrew Smith will speak.

The public is invited to attend these services.

Our deepest sympathy is extended to Robert Nabbe and family in the recent passing of his oldest daughter, Susan Beeler.

Memorial service was held for her at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church last Saturday.

You are in our pray-
ers.

My friend in Oliver Springs celebrated her 82nd birthday the second of this month.

She didn’t want a party, but her friend came in from New York, and her family celebrated her day with her, anyway.

She was thankful, and she said “I am bles-
sed.”

My friend and others here in Harriman wish you, George Alice Griffin,  many more happy birthdays, and God bless.
