Annual Women’s Conference was held at New Covenant Baptist Church last Saturday and Sunday. The theme was “You Don’t Know My Story.”

Featured guest speaker was Dr. Wanda Taylor Smith. She retired from University Hospital in Cincinnati where she held as staff nurse and interim nursing administrator before retiring in 2003. She had a lot to say talking about, “You Don’t Know My Story.” Four videos were shown where these ladies told us “You Don’t Know My Story.”

This was a great service, and the women’s choir was great. After this service hors d’oeuvres were served. Frederick Brabson is pastor. My son Marvin and wife Anna are members of this church. Joyce Woody, Gloria Ward and Louise Warmley attended this service. The fellowship was wonderful.

The Rev. Willie Gallaher was guest preacher at True Light Baptist Church last Sunday for their morning worship.

We all wish Dale Fuqua a speedy recovery after having surgery at Parkwest. Please keep her in your prayers.

We wish Ms. Hickman a get-well wish. She is the mother of Glenn Hickman. He is in Asheville with her. She is the wife of the late Rev. Hickman, a former pastor of New Century United Methodist Church of Harriman.

My daughter-in-law Anna Anderson recently had knee surgery at St. Mary’s Hospital in Knoxville. We wish you a get-well wish Anna and that you will feel like a new person.

A special birthday blessing with the best of wishes to the following friends: Lucille Gordon, 18th; D.D. Beard, 17th; Little Greg Love, 17th; Victoria Martin, 20th; Melissa Blackmon, 21st; and to Kathleen Derrick, 22nd. May God continue to bless you all.

Marlean Phillips is recuperating at home after having surgery. Marlean, we wish you a speedy recovery. You are blessed.
