Harriman Happenings March 24

By Louise Warmley

Last Sunday my grandson Troy Anderson, his friend Ashley, and his children visited with me.

We had dinner together. Troy’s daughter, Faith, was participating in a pageant that was held at the Princess Theatre that afternoon.

The Rev. and Mrs. Jesse Williams’ granddaughter was part of the pageant too.

The Rev. Anthony and Sybil Cannon are on a mission trip in Jamaica for a week.

Their children, D’Naysha and Kelton, are with their grandmother Julia Harris and aunt Alicia.

They spent two days in Nashville to spend time with their cousins.

After the Rev. Clyde Jones had surgery at Parkwest Medical Center, he is now recuperating at home and doing well.

Helen Roddy celebrated her 92 years of life last Sunday.

Her neighbor Marie Frazier said she was a good neighbor, and all of us wish her a wonderful celebration on this special day and God bless.

Marveah and her sister Annastacia are my great-granddaughters. They spent part of their spring vacation with me. They live in Knoxville. Their parents are Marv and Mandy Anderson. They love coming to Harriman to see all of their other relatives.

Congratulations to Miciah Caruthers on being chosen as a Belle for the Murfreesboro Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Kappa Beautillion was held March 8 on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University. Miciah was the escort of Beau Trinton Nevette of Murfreesboro.

Those attending from out of town were her grandparents, Spencer and Judy Anderson; her uncle and aunt, Preston and Layla Anderson of Harriman; along with her friends and family of Murfreesboro.

Miciah is the daughter of Ms. LaToya Anderson and Michael Caruthers of Murfreesboro.

Congratulations to Blackman High School boys and girls basketball teams of Murfreesboro on winning the TSSAA State AAA championship.

This is the first time in more than 30 years that both teams from a single school in Tennessee has achieved this honor.

Madison Caruthers, daughter of LaToya Anderson and granddaughter of Spencer and Judy Anderson is a cheerleader for both teams.

Great job, Blackman Blaze.
