A Harriman man who came face-to-face with a train Thursday is believed to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries from the encounter.
Harriman Police said 48-year-old Sidney S. Scarbrough of Bennett Circle was walking south on a train trestle near Webster Pike around 12:30 p.m. when he was struck by a train going the opposite direction.
He was taken to Roane Medical Center by ambulance, and police at the scene Thursday said they believe his injuries were not life threatening.
