Harriman police have found two meth-lab makings this month.

The most recent was Monday, when Harriman police found a lab that was in the middle of cooking.

Harriman Police Chief Randy Heidle said they went to the house at 824 Unaka St. with a tip that they would find a stolen vehicle there. They found the vehicle and the active meth lab

On Sept. 4, a woman related to the Unaka Street case was charged with three others when an officer went to the wong residence and stumbled on a lab.

She finally came to the door and when he came in he observed a thick cloud of air with a strong chemical odor, Heidle said. Inside he found ingredients and equipment for the manufacture of meth, Heidle said.

In addition to Ferguson, Heidle said that Samuel J. Guy of Lake City, and Patricia Brown and Paul Wilmth, both of 640 Margrave Street were charged.

Heidle said the department is now getting its criminal patrol unit truly underway, with two member teams focusing on hitting areas where crime is happening more often.
