The Roane County Commission appointed two new members to the industrial development board earlier this month.
Tommy Pemberton and Kyle Agee resigned, creating vacancies on the board.
Teddy Haywood was selected to replace Agee.
Bob Kite was chosen to replace Pemberton.
The industrial development board works to attract new business and industry to the coun-ty.
Kite and Haywood each spoke to the commission before being appointed.
“I’ve worked at Department of Energy facilities for 41 years as a process engineer, project manager, staff engineer and most recently as a consultant to Y-12,” Kite said.
“I have extensive training that I hope in some way I’ll be able to help the county.”
Commissioner Bobby Collier nominated Haywood to serve on the board.
“When he talked to me, I was extremely excited about it,” Haywood said.
Haywood owns Blue Springs Boat Co.
“I like to think we generate quite a bit of tax revenue for this area,” he said.
“We’re also going to do our best to bring some more people in, so they can generate some revenue for us as well.”
