Roane County Commissioner James Harmon admitted to one problem with his proprosal to build a new high school and close and consolidate others.
He told the school liaison committee last week that he now realizes February is too soon to have a referendum.
A referendum would let voters decide whether they want to fund his proposal by approving a $30 wheel tax and a quarter-cent increase in sales tax.
"I'll be lucky to get around to all the cities (by February)," said Harmon, who also spoke before the Harriman City Council earlier this month.
