A woman tried to rob the Rocky Top on Bluff Road Monday night.
The clerk told sheriff’s officials a white female with dark hair approached the register and demanded $250.
“He tried to stall her by counting out the money, hoping someone would walk in the store,” the report said.
The clerk also told authorities that the female, “stated that she had no problem killing him and raised her left hand inside the pocket of her hoodie as if to have a gun.”
The woman fled the store when someone else walked in. The clerk gave chase, but the woman ran to a waiting minivan and took off. The report said the driver of the red or maroon minivan was a white male.
The clerk said the would-be robber is in her early- to mid-20s, wearing a light blue or purple hoodie, light-colored blue jeans with a white glove on her left hand. The clerk also said she may have had a piercing in her lip or face.
Anyone with information about the attempted robbery should contact sheriff’s office investigator Greg Scalf at 376-5582.
Scalf said the crime is similar to others in the county recently.
