Beech Park Baptist Church, Oliver Springs, will present “Israel: A Light to the World in a Dangerous Neighborhood,” beginning at 6 p.m. Feb. 9 in the church at 1085 Tri County Blvd.

Elliot Chodoff and Arlene Bridges Samuels will be the key speakers.

Chodoff is a political and military analyst specializing in Middle East conflict and the global war on terrorists.

Samuels is Southeast Region Christian outreach director for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, an American organization dedicated to strengthening the relationship between the U.S. and Israel.

Together, they will give an in-depth security briefing on Israel.

Codoff and his wife, Beth, have lived in Israel since 1983 and are founding members of Eshchar, a community village in the Galilee. He is a major in the Israel Defense Forces and has published papers on deterrence and U.S. military manpower policy, cultural relativism and nuclear deterrence policy in the Middle East, Israel’s changing defense posture following the 1982 invasion of Lebanon, and terrorists’ use of modern information technology.

Samuels, a Committee staff member since 2007, speaks nationally on a wide range of issues regarding U.S.-Israel relations. A resident of Atlanta, she took her 15th trip to Israel last spring.
