The 2010-11 season was a good one for the Harriman Blue Devils and Harriman’s accomplishments were awarded recently as Blue Devil senior Dimitrique Inman was named District 3-A Player of the Year while Harriman head coach Jeff King was named Player of the Year.
Inman was named Player of the Year after guiding the Blue Devils to both the District 3-A regular season and tournament titles. As a senior, Inman averaged 17.8 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game. Inman ended his career with 1,468 points.
King was tabbed as Coach of the Year after leading an injury-riddled Devils squad to an 11-1 mark in district play and a 23-8 overall record.
Nine other players from Roane County were named to the 2011 Boys All-District 3-A Team.
Joining Inman on the first team were Cleveland Davidson and Brendan Kirkland from Rockwood, Darius Gallaher and Xavier Howard from Harriman, along with Midway’s Caleb Ruffner.
Midway’s Matt Jarvis and Jake Parkison along with Harriman’s Shaquille Love and Rockwood’s Harold Huffman were honorable mention selections.
On the girls side in District 3-A, Tellico Plains Gary Tucker was named 2011 Coach of the Year while Lady Bear post Sarah McKinnon was named 2011 Player of the Year.
Six players from Roane County were named to the first team. Those selections included Allison Breazeale, Kiley Gunter and Reanna Henderson from Rockwood, Jadah Gallaher and Lindsey Higgins from Harriman, along with Midway’s Hayley Roberson.
Midway’s Alisa Barger and Allyson Klinker along with Harriman’s Olyvia Lunsford made honorable mention.
In District 4-A, seven players from Oliver Sprongs received all district awards.
On the girls side, Katie Harvey was named all-district while Kellie Ball, Katie Fitch and Maleah Murray were honorable mention selections.
Oakdale’s Fred Snow was named 2011 Coach of the Year while Oakdale’s Lindsey Kilby and Oneida’s Alex Bond shared the 2011 Player of the Year Award.
On the boys side, John Simms, Michael Taylor and Jordan Romero were named honorable mention.
Coalfield’s Jason Hill was named 2011 Coach of the Year while Jellico’s Cody Malicoat was named 2011 Player of the Year.
In District 4-AA, Kingston’s Haley Cornellison was named first team all-district while Mikayla Cordell made honorable mention.
CAK’s Steve Dunney and Loudon’s Bryant Collins were named 2011 Co-Coaches of the Year while Loudon’s Chelsea Moore received the 2011 Player of the Year award.
On the boys side, Kingston’s Jordan Huddleston made second team all-district while Scott’s Bill Duncan was Named 2011 Coach of the Year and Stone Memorial’s Brandon Cole received the 2011 Player of the Year award.
