The District Attorney General’s Office said an investigation into a death at the Roane County Jail will remain open pending the final autopsy results.

Inmate Robert Allison Harrison, 50, died on April 8.

“Investigators interviewed several inmates and jail personnel regarding the death of Mr. Harrison,” the District Attorney General’s Office’s office said in a news release. “Jail administration is awaiting video surveillance showing Harrison collecting his breakfast tray just prior to collapsing.”

Preliminary autopsy results showed no indication of foul play, according to the news release.

“All aspects of the investigation at this time are consistent with Robert Harrison dying of natural causes,” the press release said.

Sheriff Jack Stockton said the county was holding Harrison for Oliver Springs for failing to appear on drug charges.

“His brother came and picked up his personal belongings yesterday (Tuesday),” Stockton said.

Harrison was brought to the jail on March 29.
