Isa Bea Hall Yates, born Feb. 4, 1924, and lived most of her life in the Ponders community in Roane County, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012.
A member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Harriman, she also loved to go to Ponders Community Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sally Patterson Hall; two brothers, Raymond and Anthony Hall; two half-brothers, Lenis and Henry Hall; a half-sister, Janie Waldo; two sons, Harles and Leslie Yates (“We loved so dear,” she wrote before her passing); and her husband of 25 years, William “Bill” Yates.
Survivors include four sons, Truman and wife Sue Yates of Ponders community, Bill Jackie Yates, Sweetwater, Pat and Robin Yates, Spring City, and Casey Yates, Loudon; a daughter, Gloria, Ponders community; a host of grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren
She loved quilting, gardening and flowers. A devoted mother and grandmother, she will be missed by all friends.
The body lay in repose in Ponders Community Church from 9 a.m. until the time for service at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 18. Burial followed at Sweetwater Memorial Park. The family received friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday in Kyker Funeral Home, Kingston.
