It's Country Fair time!

-A A +A

Adults, youths encouraged to compete

The Family and Community Education Clubs of Roane County are making plans for the annual Kingston Autumn Country Fair.

The fair will be on Oct. 2 at Fort Southwest Point.

Exhibits will be entered from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 1 in a big white tent at the fort.

Contests are open exclusively to Roane County residents, with youth competitions open to ages 6-16.

No entry fee is required.

Only one entry per class per person is allowed. Work should be that of the person entering it, and entries should have been finished since October 2009. No article will be accepted that has previously been entered in this fair.

All canned items must be sealed and in standard quart, pint, half-pint or quarter-pint canning jars. No other type jar will be accepted. Jars that “pop” or become unsealed will be disqualified.

For easier registration, mark entries with Division and Class before registering. Do not put names on entries.

First-, second- and third-place ribbons will be awarded.
