The District 4 A/AA Golf Tournament was held Tuesday at Egwani Farms in Rockford and the news would be good for five Kingston Yellow Jacket and Lady Jacket golfers as they qualified for next week’s Region 2 A/AA Tournament.
Three of Kingston’s qualifiers came in boys play as Brady Davis, Andrew Whittenbarger and Chuck Munsey qualified for the region. Davis led Kingston on the day with an 18-hole total of 74, which was good for a second place tie. Whittenbarger (93) and Munsey (97) also qualified for region play.

The top three teams qualified for next week’s region tournament. Christian Academy of Knoxville won the team title with a 304. Alcoa was second with a 305 while Catholic came in third with a 317.
Oneida finished fifth overall in team competition with a 470.
Oliver Springs didn’t compete in team competition, but Kaleb Jones shot a 121 and Brett Borum a 126 for the Bobcats in individual play.
Catholic’s Kyle Cottam had the low individual score with a 70.
CAK also won the girls team title with a 165. Catholic was second with a 189 while Oneida came in third with a 249.
CAK’s Sophia Schubert won the individual title with a score of 73.
Kingston’s Savannah Szozda finished second overall and qualified for the region tourney with an 85.
Lady Jacket teammate Sydney Winter also qualified for the region with a 192.
Kingston finished fourth overall with a 277.
The Region 2 A/AA Tournament will be held Monday at Ruggles Ferry Golf Course in Strawberry Plains.
