Tuesday night was another tough night in District 4-AA action for the Kingston Yellow Jackets and Lady Jackets as both were swept at Scott High.
Close losses has been the story of late for the Lady Jackets. Entering Tuesday's game in Huntsville, Kingston had lost their last three district contests against Alcoa, Christian Academy of Knoxville and Stone Memorial by a combined seven points. Scott added to Kingston's list of close calls as the Lady Highlanders downed the Lady Jackets, 51-49.
The boys game was close for a half, but Scott dominated the second half of play on their way to a 58-36 victory.
Kingston hits the road again Friday at Midway.
Most of the time three is greater than one, but that wasn't the case Tuesday as despite winning each of the first three quarters by at least three points, Kingston couldn't hold on for the victory. Scott rallied from 11 points down entering the final period for a 51-49 victory.
The Lady Jackets held a 14-9 lead after eight minutes of play and extended their lead to 31-23 at halftime. The lead seemed safe at 41-30 after three periods of play, but the final quarter was a rough one for the Lady Jackets as the Lady Highlanders won the frame 21-8 to pick up the come-from-behind 51-49 victory.
Haley Cornellison continued her strong play of late as she scored a game-high 19 points. Makayla Cordell added three three-pointers and 11 points in the loss for the Lady Jackets.

Two games in two days might have caught up with Kingston Tuesday night as the Jackets seemed to run out of gas in the second half at Scott.
Kingston picked up a hard fought 10-point win over Coalfield Monday and the Jackets trailed just 26-21 at halftime Tuesday against the 21-4 Highlanders, but the third period would see things start to unravel for Kingston. Scott outscored Kingston 16-9 in the third period and 16-6 in the final quarter to pull away for the 58-36 victory.
Aaron Fielden led Kingston on the night with 10 points.
