Jackets sting Scott

The Kingston Lady Jackets desperately needed a shot of confidence after a rocky season in district competition. On Tuesday night, they got that confidence-booster with a convincing 50-30 road win over the Scott Lady Highlanders. 

The Lady Jackets came out and swarmed the Lady 'Landers with a 15-4 first period advantage, before beefing up the lead to 22-10 at the half. 

A 15-5 third period gave Kingston a huge 37-15 lead as they cruised the rest of the way for the 50-30 win. 

Kingston owned the boards with a 32-21 tilt and a 19-14 edge in team steals. 

Sydney Nunley (12 points, 9 boards, 4 blocked shots) was the leading scorer with Taylor Thurman (8 points, 5 steals), Harli-Blaine Oran (8 points), and Haley Cornellison (8 points) and Kalli Sampson (5 boards) also putting up solid numbers for the Lady Jackets.

Boys Game

Defense was the name of the game for the Yellow Jackets as they picked up an impressive 43-21 win over the Highlanders. 

Kingston started the game with a 10-5 opening period advantage. A 7-0 surge to close out the second period gave the Jackets a 27-14 halftime lead. 

The Jackets would embark on a 9-3 run at one stretch in period number three to take a 36-17 lead and pull away in the final period for the 43-21 win. 

Scott had a 35-28 edge on the boards, but the tell-tale sign was a 13-4 tilt in team steals by the Jackets. 

Jordan Huddleston (11 points, 8 boards), Brandon Griffis (11 points), Quint Gasque (8 points), and Hunter Golliher (7 points) were all key contributors in the win along with Trae Colquitt (8 boards).
