JAMES BRUMMETT: Action ensures no conflict between offices

-A A +A

To the citizens of the town of Oliver Springs (and other interested citizens of Roane County):

As most of you know, the voters of the 4th District (including you) recently elected me to another four year term as your Roane County commissioner, a position I intend to hold as long as my health and the good people of the 4th District will allow me to do.

More recently, my peers on the County Commission unanimously elected me as chairman of the Roane County Commission, an honor and a privilege that I take very seriously as I serve the citizens of the 4th District and Roane County.

Therefore, in order to remove any hint, thought or propensity of any possible city/county conflict of interest, I will not be a candidate in the upcoming June 7 city election.

Likewise, it has been a pleasure and an honor to serve as an alderman for the town of Oliver Springs for the past eight years, and I thank each of you from the bottom of my heart!

Please remember that I am still your Roane County commissioner, and I will proudly continue to serve this area and its fine citizens.

As always, feel free to call upon me anytime I can be of assistance to you!

James W. Brummett
