James Ronald 'Ronnie' Cobb

James Ronald “Ronnie” Cobb, 63, of Kingston, went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 7, 2012, in University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville.

He was of the Presbyterian faith, a graduate of Oak Ridge High School, studied electrical engineering at UT, served in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier Ranger during the Vietnam War, and retired from TVA as an instrument mechanic foreman. Throughout his life, he enjoyed boating, fishing, movies, and lapidary. He was a loving, devoted father, and his family and friends will miss him greatly.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Hiram Cobb; his mother, Pearle Stewart Sise; a brother, Billy Roger Cobb; and a nephew, Byron Barker.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Joe Griffith, Kingston; a sister, Dorothy Barker; two grandchildren, Joseph and Shelby Griffith; four nieces and nephew, Sherold Kaib, Jennifer Bennett, Rose Anders and James Barker; three great-nieces and –nephew, Tara Gilbreath, Christie Ragle, and Max Barr.
Funeral will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 12, in Kyker Funeral Home chapel, Kingston. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 13, at Lenior City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Kyker Funeral Home, Kingston.
