Pauline Irene Ottinger Adams

Pauline Irene Ottinger Adams, 97, of Rockwood, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, in Roane Medical Center, Harriman.

Born Oct. 5, 1910, in Sale Creek, she was a member of Whites Creek Baptist Church, Rockwood.

She was preceded in death by parents, Florence and Effie Shipley Ottinger; her husband, A.W. Adams; daughter, Helen Lorene Adams Cagle; granddaughter, Connie Lynn Cagle Gray; son-in-law, Rollin Wyrick; and grandson-in-law, Wayne Curtis Reid.

Survivors include daughter, Betty Ruth Wyrick of Rockwood; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Edward Ed Adams, Bob and Sarah Adams, Gene and Eula Adams and Wayne and Mickie Adams, all of Rockwood; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, in Evans Mortuary chapel, Rockwood, with the Rev. Roger Britton officiating. Graveside service and burial were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at Glen Alice Cemetery, Rockwood.

Kaylee Kneisler Daniels

Kaylee Kneisler Daniels, infant daughter of Travis and Nikki Daniels, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, in Roane Medical Center, Harriman.

She was preceded in death by grandfathers, Calvin Hendrickson and Kenneth Tate; and aunt, Milinda Sheubert.

In addition to her parents, survivors include maternal grandparents, Harry and Vickie Kneisler of Knoxville and Kim and Greg Nebel of Kingston; paternal grandparents, Terry and Becky Daniels and Darlene and Steve Sims, all of Harriman; uncles and aunts, Tiffany and Marty Underwood of Rockwood, Harry III and Anna Kneisler of Florida, Denise Pick and Dee Dee Massey, both of Kingston; cousins, Porcelin and Seth Underwood of Rockwood, Gavin Kneisler of Florida and Austin Pick of Kingston.

Graveside service and burial were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Harriman City Cemetery, with the Rev. Wayne Nelson and Billy Edmonds officiating. Davis Funeral Home, Harriman, was in charge of arrangements.

Rabbit Grigsby

Hazel Louise Mamma Rabbit Grigsby, 78, of Rockwood, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, in Roane Medical Center, Harriman.

She was a member of First Baptist Chruch, Rockwood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Daddy Rabbit Grigsby; mother Annie Cagle; father, Autie Newman; step-grandson, Gary Bowling; brother; Carter Newman; and aunt, Jewie Billings.

Survivors include son, Billy Grigsby of Rockwood; half-sisters Charlene Gibbs, Edith Joley, Elsie Morgan and Alma Holloway, all of of Spring City; step-grandsons Eric Honeycutt and his wife, Tina, of Rockwood, and Nick Bowling of Knoxville; step-great-grandaughter Cassie; special friend and son Chris Layne of Rockwood; special friend and caregiver Beverly Bailey of Rockwood; special friends Daniel Raymondi, Lynda Carter, Linda Jones, Robby Newby, Dave Wilkerson, Billy Fark, Mike Lawson, Danny Mills and many others; brother-in-law Curtis Grigsby and his wife, Imogene, of Dothan, Ala.; close family member Clyde Alvin Billings of Burlington, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was at 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, in Evans Mortuary chapel, Rockwood, with the Rev. Rick Roberts officiating. Graveside service and burial were at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Rockwood.

Aileen Marie Jacks Hamby

Aileen Marie Jacks Hamby, 83, of Lancing, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge.

She was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by parents, Ben and Elsie Hines Jacks; and niece, Jan Jacks Stroud.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Joe Cooper of Knoxville and Brenda and Daniel Garrett of Wartburg; grandchildren, Breann Cooper of Knoxville, Roseanna and R.J. Foster of Orlando, Fla., Alan and Deanna Garrett of Wartburg, Kevin and Sheila Garrett of Lancing and Chad and Monica Garrett of Rockwood; great-grandchildren, Emily, Daniel, Kara and Hayden; brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Aileen Jacks of Albany, Ga.; sisters and brother-in-law, Thelma Garrett of Harriman and Helen and Onder Hurst of Bonneau, S.C.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service was at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, in Schubert Funeral Home chapel, Wartburg, with Bro. Buster Armes and Bro. Richard Parker officiating. Graveside service and burial were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at Morgan Memorial Gardens, Wartburg.

Eula Mae Haupert

Eula Mae Haupert, 89, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, in St. Marys Medical Center, Knoxville.

She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, reading, and gardening, especially planting flowers.

She was preceded in death by son, James Harold Briggs; parents, George and Belle Brewster; three sisters; and one brother.

Survivors include daughters, Shelvia Jean Ott of Orange Beach, Ala., and Georgia Kay Gruszka of Harriman; son, William E. Rayburn of Burkett, Ind.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

Memorial service was at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, in Evans Mortuary chapel, Rockwood.

Patrick Michael Martin

Patrick Michael Martin, 50, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2007.

Born Feb. 3, 1957, he attended Holy Rosary Academy and was a 1975 graduate of Father Ryan High School. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in July 1981 after six years of service. He graduated in 1991 from Tennessee Technological University, Cookeville, with a bachelors degree in electrical engineering.

He was a guitarist for Sunday morning Mass at his parish, a National Park Service volunteer and an active member and kayaking clinic instructor for the East Tennessee Whitewater Club.

He was an electrical engineer at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He loved family, friends, music and whitewater kayaking.

Survivors include his wife, Lauretta Martin; three foster children; parents, Bill and Flo Martin; sisters, Teresa Hudgins, Jean Chesley and Betty Massagee; and brothers, Joe Martin and John Martin.

Requiem Mass was at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Harriman, with Father Michael Sweeney presiding. Burial was at Clear Creek Cemetery, Lancing. Kyker Funeral Home, Kingston, was in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to either the American Cancer Society, Roane County Unit, P.O. Box 82, Kingston, TN 37763; or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Sewall Anthony

Sewall Anthony, 80, of Roane County, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007 at Roane Medical Center in Harriman. He was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army in Germany.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Molly and Carl Anthony, and sister, Jessie Pipes.

He is survived by his daughter, Katie Davis; brother and sister-in-law Vaughn and Evelyn Anthony; sisters and brothers-in-law Marry Hennings, Betty and Mike Kaplan, Jackie Smith, Nancy and Jere Hall; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Cick Funeral Home in Lenoir City.

Funeral service is 2 p.m. Thursday in the Click Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Farrell Green officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery with military honors conferred by Loudon County Veterans Honor Guard.

Anna Mae Shaffer

Anna Mae Shaffer, 84, of Rockwood, formerly of Mount Vernon, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at Rockwood Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was a lifetime member of the Eleazar Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Martin Shaffer; parents, Ernie and Bell Fox; and brothers, Junior and Edward Fox.

She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Rawlings, Madisonville; granddaughter Stacy Carter and her husband, Glenn, of Rockwood; great-grandsons Cory Martin and Alex Lee Carter; sisters Betty Hayes and Lodema Ingram; and brother-in-law Vernal Shaffer, all of Mount Vernon; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family received friends from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home in Tellico Plains. The funeral was 3 p.m. Sunday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Roger Underwood officiating. Burial was at Eleazar Cemetery.
