Earl Duff Subaru and Citizens First Bank are sponsors of the first CASA Winter Blast to benefit CASA of the Ninth Judicial District.

The Winter Blast, to be held Saturday, Feb. 9, at the historic Princess Theatre in Harriman, features a reverse raffle with a $5000 grand prize, a concert by Jimmy Wayne, Nashville recording artist and National CASA spokesman, and food provided by Ruby Tuesday, Caramella’s Catering and Lincoln’s Sports Grill.

Events will begin at 5 p.m., with food service in three venues adjacent to the Princess.
The concert and raffle will be held in the Princess, beginning at 7:30.

The state-sanctioned reverse raffle has just 500 tickets available, with ticket holders eligible for the $5000 grand prize or one of ten intermediate prizes.

Jimmy Wayne is himself an alumnus of foster care and gives tirelessly of his time to support older youth in the child welfare system.

In 2010, he walked more than 1,700 miles from Nashville to Phoenix to raise awareness of homeless youth and children in care.

His “Meet Me Halfway” campaign has been profiled by media across the country.
Wayne speaks regularly about the cause on television and radio and during his performances.

WECO radio will air an interview with Wayne in the 7-8 a.m. and 4-5 p.m. hours during the week of Jan. 28.

In addition to the title sponsors, Citizens First Bank and Earl Duff Subaru, other sponsors include Jack McNew, Citizens National Bank, Colbert Packaging, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, Morgan County Economic Development Board, Richard Evans Law, Gigi Schooler, Spires Construction & Remodeling, and WECO.

Court-appointed special advocates, called CASAs, are specially trained citizen volunteers who are appointed by the juvenile court to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children.

CASA of the Ninth Judicial District is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that trains and supports CASA volunteers for the juvenile courts in Loudon, Morgan and Roane counties.
Proceeds from the CASA Winter Blast will help to fund training, support and supervision of CASA volunteers.

Raffle tickets with admission to the dining and entertainment are $100.

Tickets for the reverse raffle are $75. Ticket holders do not have to be present to win.

Tickets may be purchased from Earl Duff Subaru, Citizens First Bank or by calling a CASA office at 717-4186, 865-988-2311 or 423-539-5550.
