Roane County experienced a slight increase in its unemployment rate for September, according to statistics released late last month by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
The state’s figures show Roane County’s jobless rate at 8.5 percent, an increase of 0.1 percent over August.
That means 25,940 of the county’s 28,350-strong labor force was employed for the month.
Tennessee’s unemployment rate also experienced a 0.1 percent hike to 9.7 percent in September.
