Two Tennessee Technological University students from Roane County recently received awards from the Cookeville school’s College of Arts and Sciences.
Jacob Kelley, a junior from Rockwood, received the Alberta Campana memorial scholarship and the William J.
Brinker scholarship for study abroad.
Kelley is studying German at Tennessee Tech and plans to spend the fall semester in Regensburg, Germany.
He is a member of the Alpha Mu Gamma foreign language honor society, the German Club, the international business society and the Tech Buddy Program.
A 2010 graduate of Rockwood High School, he is the son of Cheryl Kelley.
After graduating from Tennessee, Kelly plans to pursue a graduate degree in German, linguistics or philology.
Recent Tennessee Tech graduate Grace Ryan Claudy of Harriman, received the history faculty scholarship.
A history major, she is a member of Phi Alpha Theta and TTU Mortar Board honor societies.
Claudy, a 2009 graduate of the Faith Christian Academy, is the daughter of Alison and Mark Claudy.
