Kindness noted after family loses kin in vehicular accident

-A A +A

I wish to express my deepest gratitude to  the people of Roane and Morgan county for their overwhelming generosity in honor of the Bailey family.

It’s a very difficult time for us in light of the recent tragedy. However, the gifts of our fellow townspeople, both monetary  and the large amount of food that has been brought to our home, have helped  to show how well thought of Heath was.

He was an absolute treasure to the  entire family and was deeply loved.

I would also like to recognize two outstanding officers with the Kingston Police Department.

One is Sgt. Caleb Strayer, who requested to be the officer to inform us of the tragedy. He showed sympathy and  professionalism.

Caleb has been a friend of the family for many years and when he stood with us in the parking lot of Rite-Aid informing the family of the occurance, he was more friend than officer. He also joined our family in a word of prayer.

Secondly, Sgt. Bo Smith has been a lifelong friend of the family and has helped us in so many ways. I would like to make it known that Sgt. Smith’s shift ended at 11 that night, and he stayed on to help  with the family and do what he could at Harriman hospital.

He didn’t leave until after 3 a.m.

Thank you all, and God bless you.
