When Lindsey Stickrod and Sydney Spurgeon were playing at Roane County High School, they terrorized opposing teams with their all-around good play.

Things didn’t change this season at Chattanooga State as Stickrod and Spurgeon put up impressive numbers in their first season playing for the Lady Tigers.

Stickrod started 50 of 63 games for the Lady Tigers and ended the season with a .387 batting average. She also hit four home runs and had 51 RBIs. Those numbers helped land Stickrod on the NJCAA All-American Third Team as a first baseman.

The speedy Spurgeon started 19 games at Chattanooga State and hit .346 on the season. She was also perfect on the season in stealing bases.

Spurgeon and Stickrod played a big role in what was a great season for the Lady Tigers. Chattanooga State finished the season with a record of 55-8. They won the TCCAA Tournament and finished third in the NJCAA National Tournament.
