Kingston City Council is taking steps to establish an energy conservation committee.
The idea was first mentioned by Councilman Brant Williams at a council workshop this month.
The city is already in the process of getting TVA to conduct an energy audit of all city buildings.
According to parks and recreation director Rick Ross, this process could take several months.
TVA would come in and examine all buildings, like looking at light fixtures, and make a recommendation to the city.
