Singer-songwriter and Kingston native Woody Wright will make multiple appearances in the East Tennessee area this weekend.

Wright is a featured artist with the “Gaither Homecoming” series and a gospel recording artist.

He will be the guest speaker as he revisits some of his school teachers at the Oct. 11 Roane County Retired Teachers luncheon in Kingston Community Center.

Wright will provide special music in Kingston First Baptist Church’s Sunday morning worship service on Oct. 13.

On Oct. 14, Wright will be the guest artist for Kingston First Baptist Church’s Young at Heart luncheon.

That meeting starts at 10:30 a.m. in Kingston United Methodist Church at 212 W. Church St.

As a solo performer, Wright has traveled to many countries around the world.

In addition to the Gaither gospel artists, he has shared the stage with artists from other genres, including Reba McEntire, Vince Gill, Kenny Rogers, Glen Campbell, Brenda Lee and Arlo Guthrie.

He has had more than 100 songs recorded, including many featured on Grammy and Dove Award-winning projects.

Wright is a 1975 graduate of Roane County High School. His mother, Betty, lives in Kingston.
