A Civil War Trail Marker was unveiled outside the old Roane County Courthouse in Kingston on Tuesday.
“This is our first Civil War Trail Marker that we’ve been able to install,” said Pam May, director of tourism and marketing for The Roane Alliance. “We hope it’s not the last.”
Indications are that it may not be. Lee Curtis, director of program development for the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development said the county fits the criteria to get another marker.
