Kingston, Rockwood part of Science Bowl

Rockwood High School and Kingston’s Roane County High School had three teams among 55 from schools across Tennessee in this year’s regional competition for the 2014 National Science Bowl.

The regional competition took place last weekend.

Members of the teams from the Roane County schools are, from left, Tanner Green, Ryan Hamby, Caleb Burgess, Brittani Ridenour, Josh Spurling, and Shelley Edwards of Rockwood High; Cothron Theiss, Michael Stooksbury, Teresa Armstrong, and Shelby Brooks of Roane County High; and Darian Green and Heather Vineyard of Rockwood High.

They were treated to dinner at the Alcoa Airport Hilton with speaker Amy Mundorff, a forensic anthropologist who worked at the World Trade Center site, now an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee.
