Kingston student named valedictorian at Sewanee

Blake Alexander Caldwell of Kingston was valedictorian of the University of the South’s graduating class of 2011.

He presented the valedictory address during commencement exercises last month.  

Caldwell graduated summa cum laude and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society.

He is the son of Betty and Baxter D. Caldwell.

The University of the South, familiarly known as Sewanee, comprises  a nationally recognized College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, a distinguished School of Theology, and a School of Letters offering innovative summer master’s degree programs.

Sewanee enrolls 1,500 undergraduates and an estimated 100 seminarians.
