The Roane County Knights lacrosse team recently recorded its first win of the season a 8-3 victory against Upperman High School.

The Knights, who are in their second season, finally got the monkey off their back with a convincing win at Cookeville. It was their first win in TSLA lacrosse.

The Knights got on the board first with a goal from Elisha Stephenson. Later in the first quarter, Nicolas Goldschmitt scored putting the Knights up 2-0.

The Bees scored a goal in the second period to close the gap to 2-1 before halftime.

The third period began with an aggressive defensive play led by senior long pole defenseman, Adam Roberts. Midway through the period, Stephenson and Goldschmitt scored goals again giving the Knights some breathing room and a 6-2 cushion.

The Knights were able to tack on two more goals in the final period by Goldschmitt and Caleb Edgar to seal the first victory for the team.

Stephenson finished the game with his first ever hat trick along with Goldschmitt’s four goals. The Knights next home game is Saturday, April 12 when they take on the Nashville Warriors at 3 p.m.
