The Oliver Springs Lady Bobcats ran their season record to 10-2 overall and 5-0 in District 4-A Friday evening with a 15-0 thumping of Sunbright.

Friday’s game lasted only three innings and would see the Lady ’Cats make only two trips to the plate. In those trips, the Lady ’Cats scored one run in the bottom of the first inning followed by 14 runs coming home in the second inning.

Emily Griffith walked and scored Oliver Springs’ first run of the day on a single from Courtney Jones.

The second inning started with a triple from Rachel Griffith and ended with a three-run double off the bat of Jones. In between, the Lady ’Cats picked up 10 walks and singles from Jones, Hope Jenkins and Haley Griffith.

Rachel Griffith, Haley Griffith, Deandra Scott, Savannah Davis and Chelsey Roy scored twice in the second inning while Jones, Emily Griffith, Jenkins and Tiffany Roberts touched the plate once in the frame.

Jones (3-3, 2B, 4 RBIs, 1 run) and Jenkins (2-3, 1 RBI, 1 run) were the only Lady ’Cat players with multiple hits on the day.

Jones (3 IP, 1 hit, 8 Ks) picked up the victory in the circle for Oliver Springs.
