Like the 1980's sitcom, eight was enough for the Kingston Lady Jackets soccer team as they captured the 8-0 win over the Harriman Lady Devils Thursday night.
“We played really well tonight and got a lot of our younger players playing time,” Kingston head coach Elik Pickell said after the game.
Skotti Bullington got the first goal on a Madison Eblen assist for the Lady Jackets 10 minutes in. Four minutes later, roles were reversed for the next goal with Eblen scoring on a Bullington assist to take the only 2-0 lead.
Kelli Allen scored the next Lady Jackets goal unassisted to make the score 3-0 18 minutes into the contest. Five minutes later, Allen was at it again as Emily Ostrander contributed an assist to make the score 4-0.
At the 34-minute mark, Riley Bunch scored on an Ostrander assist to make the score 5-0. Two minutes later, Bullington scored unassisted to make the score 6-0 going to half-time.
The scoring pace slowed in the second half, but 72 minutes into the contest, Ashlyn Blackburn scored on a Hannah Owings assist to make the score 7-0. Five minutes later, Astraya Schorr scored on a penalty kick to make the score 8-0, which is what the game ended at.
Bullington and Allen each scored multiple goals for Kingston.
Harriman was led by Savannah Pelfrey's 15 saves.
