Tuesday night's soccer match-up between the Kingston Lady Jackets and the Sunbright Lady Tigers was an overwhelming 12-0 win for the Lady Jackets.
“We played well against a very young team (Sunbright),” Kingston head coach Elik Pickell said after the game. “We got our younger girls plenty of playing time and we just have to get ready for the next game.”
Kingston scored two minutes into the game on a Katie Wattenbarger goal with Brooke Bales picking up the assist to make the score 1-0. Four minutes later, Wattenbarger was at it again with a Kelli Allen assist.
Three minutes after that, Skotti Bullington booted another goal through the goal with another assist by Bales to make the score 3-0. The next minute, it was Emily Ostrander scoring for the Lady Jackets to push the lead to 4-0 on a Riley Bunch assist.
Kingston’s scoring barrage slowed for a little while, but in the 35th minute, Meg Hartley scored on a goal kick to take the advantage to 5-0 at the half.
Five minutes into the second half, Delaney Ethridge scored to make it 6-0, and then five minutes later, she scored again to make it 7-0 with Emma Tobin picking up the assist.
Bunch got in on the scoring action for the Jackets two minutes later to boost the lead to 8-0 on a Tobin assist. Madison Eblen scored next for the Lady Jackets with a Hannah Owings assist to make it 9-0.
Bunch scored once again to make it 10-0 on a Jamie Strader assist.
Owings scored the last two goals to make the final score 12-0.
Wattenbarger, Bunch, Owings, and Ethridge all had multiple goals in victory.
Kingston (2-0-1) returns to action again on Tuesday when they host Cumberland County.
