Lady Patriots fall, 68-48

In a girls only affair, the Mt. Pisgah Christian Academy Lady Patriots were overpowered by Olivia Johnson and Hixson’s Berean Academy Lady Eagles, 68-48.

Johnson had a huge night as she buried six three-pointers and scored a game-high 32 points in leading Berean to the 20-point victory.

Johnson got off to a great start as she buried two triples and scored 11 points in leading the Lady Eagles to a 22-11 lead after eight minutes of play.

Morgan Walls tried to keep Mt. Pisgah close in the first period as she scored nine points.

Johnson had another solid quarter in the second as she buried two more triples and scored seven points in leading Berean to a 37-23 lead at intermission.

Johnson’s teammate, Jazmine Massengale, added a pair of three-pointers and scored eight points in the first half.

Sonja Miller scored five points and Walls added four for the Lady Patriots in the second period.

Mt. Pisgah played better in the third period, but couldn’t make a run at the Lady Eagles. 

Behind eight points from Miller, both teams scored 14 points in the frame to leave Berean on top 51-37 entering the final period.

Johnson went off again in the final quarter, scoring nine points to lead the Lady Eagles to the 20-point victory.
