Each year, Roane State’s Community Services Committee organizes an Angel Tree. Tags with the names of children and seniors in need are placed on the tree, and faculty, staff and students can choose a name and donate a gift for their “angel.” This year, the Roane State softball team adopted an incredible 18 “angels,” all senior citizens served by Mid-East Community Action Agency or Renaissance Terrance. From left, with some of the donated gifts, are Sarah Freels, Kelly Cooper, Kacy Russell, Tiffany Cathey, Eboni Dowlen, Abbey Boling, Kelsie Hester, Amber Mainord, Keaton Buie, Jenna Roberts, Najmeh Brown, Rachael Mann and Heather Graham. Not pictured are Katheryn Brown, Casey Wolfe, assistant coach Jessie Hackworth, and head coach Sue Niemi. Players and coaches personally delivered gifts to seniors at Renaissance Terrace. Players visited with their “angels” and sang Christmas carols.
