To quote the old Survivor song, the Rockwood Lady Tigers soccer program had the "eye of the tiger" en route to a 10-0 triumph over the Harriman Lady Blue Devils Thursday evening.
“We played well and passed the ball well,” Rockwood head coach Wes Ford said after the game. “We finished our chances for the most part and it was a good rebound for us after two tough losses in the last seven days.”
Rockwood started their scoring early with Brooke Boles scoring on a Katie Cisson assist to take the early 1-0 lead. Cisson would score the next three goals with assists from Carson Evans on two of them to up the lead to 4-0.
Blake Kelly added a goal for the Lady Tigers to make the score 5-0, then Bree Daniels got in on the fun for Rockwood before the end of the first half to make the score 6-0.
Cisson started the second half with her fourth goal of the game on a McKenzie Lee assist to make the score 7-0.
Cassie Lemons, Chelsea Cheek and Addison Barker added the last three goals for the Lady Tigers to make the final score 10-0.
Cisson (4 goals, 1 assist) was the leading scorer for Rockwood.
Ivory Peddicord (6 saves) and Sabrina Pelfrey (5 saves) were the key players for Harriman in defeat.
“This was a pretty big win for us in terms of the in-county rivalry, so it's always good to get those wins,” Ford said.
