The Midway Lady Green Waves won their fourth consecutive District 3-A regular season championship following a 15-0 win over Harriman Monday at Midway.

Midway stands at 18-3 overall and are 7-0 in the district. In those seven district contests, the Lady Waves have outscored their competition by a combined score of 92-3.

The Lady Waves have one more district game left at Greenback Wednesday. They also have a big non district home game against District 4-A champion Coalfield Thursday. Midway will begin play in the District 3-A tournament Monday at Grace Christian Academy.

Harriman finishes the district portion of their schedule with a 4-4 mark and a third place finish. They also will begin play in the district tourney Monday against Rockwood.

Harriman is 15-7 overall.

Midway's Hannah Colyer was sharper than she was last Thursday when she no-hit the Lady Devils, 10-0. This time Colyer faced only 12 batters and struck out nine of them in the 15-0 four-inning win. Colyer didn’t walk anyone and there were no Midway errors to give her a perfect game.

Colyer struck out the first five batters in the game and then four of the last six Harriman batters

Harriman pitcher Lindsey Higgins held Midway off for three innings last Thursday, but ran into trouble Monday. Higgins gave up eight of the 15 runs in Midway's opening at bat. Higgins finished the game by giving up a respectable six hits, but she did walk 10 and hit a batter.

Three more Harriman errors led to several runs being scored.

The first eight Midway batters scored runs and they had only one hit in the inning.

Alex Coffman led off by reaching on an error then Krystal Rue drew a walk. Colyer singled to score both runners before Kati Alexander was hit by a pitch.

Taylor Narramore and Michelle Walden followed with walks before Paige Moree reached on an error to force in three runs.

Danielle Borum and Ashley Alexander drew walks with Borum scoring the eighth run on a sacrifice fly form Coffman.

Colyer walked again before the inning would end.

Midway picked up only one run in the second inning as with two outs, Moree singled and moved to second on a passed ball before scoring on a Borum single.

The Lady Waves picked up four runs in the third to close in on the early ending.

After an out, Rue reached on an error, Colyer singled and Kati Alexander drew a walk. Narramore bounced to short to force out Alexander at second, but drove in Rue. Walden singled to drive in a run then Moree stepped in a drove a hit to the fence to plate Narramore and Walden.

Moree didn’t pause at third and instead churned for home, but was tagged out on a good block by Harriman catcher Kaci Byargeon.

Higgins lost a little control in the fourth and walked Borum, Ashley Alexander and Coffman to load the bases. Rue ripped a single to score Borum and Ashley Alexander with the game ending runs.
