Landmark restaurant burns in Rockwood

A fire that broke out at Wayne’s Cafe late Saturday night destroyed the Hwy. 27 landmark.

Dispatch received a call alerting them to the blaze at 11:04 p.m., according to the Roane County E-911 center.

West Roane County Volunteer Fire Department was first on the scene at 1191 Spring City Hwy. No one from the department could be reached to talk about the cause of the fire.
