State Sen. Mae Beavers, R-Mount Juliet, said the National Precursor Log Exchange is doing its job in keeping pseudoephedrine out of the hands of meth cooks.
Pseudoephedrine is found in cold and allergy medicines, such as Sudafed and Allegra-D.
It also happens to be a key ingredient in the manufacture of methamphetamine.
The National Precursor Log Exchange, also known as NPLEx, is supposed to prevent pseudoephedrine from being diverted for illegal purposes through real-time electronic tracking.
