The East Tennessee Regional Leadership Association is touring Roane County today, Nov. 16, as its final class of the 2011 season.
Environment is the topic of the tour to be led by Tony LaMance, the Roane County ETRLA representative.
“I want folks experience the awesome beauty not only in the natural surroundings, but our people who make it such a wonderful place to be,” LaMance said of his plans for the tour.
“God have blessed us all to be in the East Tennessee region, and I would pass the words I heard to my class regardless of where in East Tennessee they are from ... grow where you’re planted.”
A Roane County native, Lamance is human resources manager with EnergySolutions.
The day kicks off with breakfast at the Michael Dunn Center. After welcoming remarks from Roane County Executive Ron Woody and presentations from People with Disabilities and Help Roane County Go Green, the group continues the day with stops at TVA’s Kingston Fossil Plant ash recovery site and lunch at Whitestone Country Inn.
The remainder of the day will be spent at the Whitestone Inn with presentations and discussions on the tour topic.
