State Rep. Kent Calfee sponsored a resolution in the last Tennessee General Assembly session to honor Oliver Springs’ Janelle Arthur for her success in the music industry.
Arthur finished in the top 5 of the 12th season of “American Idol,” a FOX-TV talent-show-style program, in 2013.
Arthur has enjoyed numerous successes in the country music business, including four performances at Grand Ole Opry since her debut in June 2012, singing on the “American Idol” stage with The Band Perry during the “American Idol” 12th-season finale and performing at the CMT One Country & Sheba event and at Dollywood.
Arthur’s singing career began at Dollywood, where she portrayed a young Dolly Parton for four years.
