Libraries need our support

We have a letter to the editor on Page 5A noting that the foundation that supports the Kingston Public Library is seeking the donation of books for its ongoing library sale.

We encourage everyone to go through their bookshelves and pull books they don’t expect to reread and donate them to this good cause.

And it’s not just the Kingston library that has needs. The ones in Rockwood, Harriman and Oliver Springs surely have some books they feel are critical to their collection, programming needs or repairs for a leaky roof that the budget just won’t cover.

We believe a community’s library reflects the strength of the community and urge that you do all you can to keep yours at the center of the community. They may need donations of books or money, or perhaps some of your time.

Be as generous as you can.
