Lonnie Blalock, 56, of Coalfield, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at his home.
A devoted husband, father and a friend to all, he loved the outdoors, gardening and hunting. He was a coal miner for many years and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by parents, Henry and Phronie Blalock; brothers, David Blalock and Lowell Blalock; and sisters, Joyce Blalock and Mildred Smith.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Lola Blalock; sons and daughters-in-law, Lonnie Leon and Lisa Blalock of Lake City, Randall and Wanda Blalock, Carlis Blalock and Matthew Blalock, all of Coalfield, and Michael Blalock of Wartburg; daughters and son-in-law, Susan Pack and Trina Blalock, both of Coalfield, and Selina and John Nuchols of Oak Ridge; several grandchildren; brothers, William Blalock of Wartburg; sisters and brothers-in-law, Geneva Lawson of Indiana, Betty and Paul McCallie of Kingston and Nancy and Ray Hunter of Oliver Springs; and special friend, Harold Lloyd.
Funeral service was at 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, in Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg, with Bro. Paul McCallie officiating. Graveside service and burial were at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at Union Cemetery.
