Lonnie Blalock, 56, of Coalfield passed away Friday Oct. 26, 2007 at his home. Lonnie was a devoted husband, father and a friend to all. He loved the outdoors, gardening and hunting and had worked many years as a coal miner.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Phronie Blalock; brothers, David and Lowell Blalock; sisters, Joyce Blalock and Mildred Smith.
Mr. Blalock is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lola Blalock; eight children, Lonnie Leon Blalock and wife Lisa of Lake City, Randall Blalock and wife Wanda of Coalfiled, Susan Pack of Coalfield, Selina Nuchols and husband John of Oak Ridge, Michael Blalock of Wartburg, Carlis Blalock, Matthew Blalock and Trina Blalock all of Coalfield; several grandchildren; brothers and sisters, William Blalock of Wartburg, Geneva Lawson of Indiana, Betty McCallie and husband Paul of Kingston, Nancy Hunter and husband Ray of Oliver Springs; also Harold Lloyd for the friendship and love he gave Lonnie.
The family received friends Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral service followed at 8 p.m. with Bro. Paul McCallie officiating. Graveside service was held Monday at 11 a.m. at Union Cemetery.
Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg was in charge of arrangements.
