An Iowa man has indirectly become the first fatality of the TVA fly ash disaster.
According to TVA officials, 55-year-old Larry LaCroix died after an accident on the job at TVA's Kingston Fossil Plant Monday morning.
LaCroix, who was employed by W.W. Transport of West Burlington, Iowa, brought a load of 20-inch diameter pipes to the Kingston Steam Plant. While releasing the straps holding the load, one or more pipes fell on him.
