Staying away from Bowers Elementary School is becoming a problem for Jim Estes. The 47-year-old was arrested this week for violating an order of protection.
According to the Roane County Sheriff’s Office report, the order prohibits Estes from having contact with his son, a student at Bowers, except for supervised visits.
The report said his son was sitting on the floor in the lunchroom when Estes showed up at the school on Tuesday.
“Mr. Estes confronted the Principal Ms. Candy Lett in the lunchroom of the school,” the report said. Estes allegedly left when Assistant Principal Kevin Ayers showed up.
“Mr. Estes was wearing a shirt with a rifle on the front and crossed rifles on the back,” the report said. “The incident was captured on video through the school’s camera system.”
Estes was arrested at his home, 448 Woolsey Road, Harriman, on Wednesday.
He was still in custody at the Roane County Jail Thursday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office website.
Estes was also arrested this past November for allegedly trying to make contact with his son at the school.
“This was witnessed by three school employees,” the warrant from his November arrest said.
